Stand by Me 1986 Stand By Me is based on the thriller and horror writer Stephen King's novel 'The Body'. King wrote this story inspired by his own childhood. Set in the 1950s, the film is about four young teenagers, who search for the body of a missing boy in the Oregon woods.
