Jagten 2012 Lukas (Mads Mikkelsen), a kindergarten teacher in a small Scandinavian town, lives alone in the town after breaking up with his wife. Clara, the youngest daughter of one of her friends, Theo, also attends the kindergarten where she works. Lucas' interest in Clara because she is the daughter of a close friend creates admiration and interest in the little girl. Sensing this interest, Lucas concocts a lie to get revenge on the little girl for what she thinks is wrong with Clara. Things get serious when Clara tells Greten, the kindergarten principal, this lie, which we can call adult abuse. Everyone rebels against Lucas because of this rumor that spreads rapidly in the already small town. Lucas is fired from his daycare job, banned from shopping at the town's grocery store, and harassed by the police. The situation will become more complex as the phenomenon of violence gradually becomes involved.
