Trois couleurs: Rouge 1994 Tri Colors: Red, the third and final film in the Trilogy, has multiple layers of story compared to the first movie in the trilogy. Equality in white, freedom in blue and fraternity in red. Set in Geneva, Switzerland, the film contains many linear narrative stories that are easier to watch than the other two films in the trilogy. The film opens with a phone call between Valentina, a college student who works as a part-time model between London and Geneva, and her distant but very possessive boyfriend. Valentine later meets retired Judge Joseph Kern, who lives alone and injured his dog in an accident. Valentina's life gets more interesting after she befriends the former judge. Valantin learns this truth at the end of a tragic event, unaware that a series of coincidences follow. Another contemporary story recounts the experience of Valentine's neighbor Auguste, a law student. Auguste is betrayed by his girlfriend Karin. The film deals with the relationship between people, discussing the themes of friendship and betrayal. The factors that prevent individuals from understanding and getting closer to each other are discussed. In the film, where the emotions cannot be conveyed adequately and accurately, the director heavily includes phone calls. Curiosity about what the people behind the windows are going through, escaping from problems in one place, looking for a way out, approaching those on the other side form the pattern of the film. Throughout the movie, red is always used in phone signals, restaurant scenes, car scenes, and billboards. It can be said that red, one of the colors of the French flag, also symbolizes the love that connects people and thus dominates the film.
